All good and old school, and I'll bet you (like me) use the old tighter tolerances as well not the newer sloppier ones.

I do valve jobs for fun and wet sanding shims to get the perfect clearances is too much fun to just open things up and say its within the disgustingly wide Duc spec drink

Heh heh - 50 figure eight laps on my oilstone takes about half a thou off an opener shim, ad I can watch it cool down afterwards by hitting it with the micrometer every 5 or 10 seconds and seeing it get ever so slightly slightly smaller...

Been there :-)
