Thank you snips..!!  well that plastic hot dog tray should be just bolted on... easy to take out.  I hope.

Send pictures as soon as the mods start..!

Thanks for sharing snips.  I too have a 696 coming.  Dealer tells me another two weeks, or so.  What mods do you plan?

You're welcome Juan.

Here's the hotdog tray in all it's... errr.... glory. It's more angled and narrower than the beer tray variant. The redesign is probably specifically aimed at preventing beer glasses being placed there, but probably not hotdogs.

and, yes, 4 screws should see the 696 looking less like a concession stand.

Cheers.

Congrats on your choice  Wink

I'm going to live with bike as it is a while and then decide how I'd like to change it.

If the power is plenty adequate [which looks likely] then I'll start with some mods: I love the cafe racer look, so a tail-chop and clips-on would be great, but ambitious by my modding experience/ability, I'd certainly want to wait for a tail-chop kit for the 696.

If the power is on the low-side, I'll leave it pretty stock and trade-up for a larger engine next Spring - when I'm anticipating they'll have shoved a detuned 848 engine in the new Monster   waytogo  I'd then mod that bike.

Meanwhile, there are some CF bits and bobs to spruce up the current bike, and even the option of switching panels for a different color (which seems like a cheat mod aimed at people just like me  Roll Eyes )

I rent a small house on a race-horse stud farm, and that wall is the back of a row of horse stables.

Now there's an opportunity for an interesting evening.  laughingdp Umm. good thing that wall is stone, otherwise you'd have noisy neighbors I imagine.
ok ok  - I'm just jealous. I really miss Europe. I used to live on the continent.

Cali is not bad, but you can't find a decent espresso here.
Margarita , yes, espresso not - with scarce exceptions. We have to make do where we go  waytogo   laughingdp

cheers  Vino!

Yeah, that new tail light is the business. Much cleaner and more modern.
