I got a nice ticket on my bike back in June coming back from Indianapolis (to Columbus, OH) from Motogpfan's wedding.

I got clocked doing 98 in a 65 on I-70 in Madison County (one county west of Franklin County, where Columbus is).

20mph + is mandatory court appearance.

I got an attorney as the Judge in that County is not favorable to speeders and the penalty associated with 33 over is not good.

I ended up getting 4 points (lose license 12pts, I had zero prior) on my license and a 186$ fine.

Having a connection, I paid 350$ for my attorney.
Ok Cy, so you ended up paying $186 for the fine and $350 for your Attorney. That's $536 , so how much do you think it would have cost $$$ had you paid the ticket or gone to court by yourself and contested it ?     Dolph

What about the court costs???  They make the $13.00 ticket increase exponentially!!!

Try being married to Mr. Teflon.   They catch him running stop signs (after happy hour), riding on the other side of the line ( and they told him he was pulled over for speeding!!!)

OhMMMMM!!!  need to remeber that every ticket he gest out of, benefits BOTH of us!!  Geez!! it is amazing the amount of warnings he gets and I'm nailed, clocked and wrapped up in a neat little package!!

Frickin' snow!

Except that he didn't go to court.

He just paid the ticket.

;)

that shit makes me sick. in our "safety corridor" a basic rule violation (10 over) is around 750 and 75+mph is 1000-1200 and a tow truck ride

Unknown.

The Judge that was presiding over my case is well known for throwing the book at speeders.

I could have lost my license, paid a 1000$ fine, or gotten more than 4pts on my license, could have gotten traffic school, etc.
