I'll worry about being pulled over for having headphone lines running into my helmet about the time I start seeing/hearing about people being pulled over for being on a cell phone.
With the Ipod pile up, was the guy playing with it? Distracted by the music? Or just not paying attention in general? Because not paying attention never happens without an outside distraction.
Good on you for not wanting to be distracted, though I suppose it's not too much of an issue when you only ride more then 30 miles away from SF once a year.
(Luv ya DQ! ~runs~
)
(~wheelies in Jammen's direction~)
You're just mad that I woudn't go to Ouray with you
The wreck in question was in Australia...you can ask the guys down there about it, but the person in question certainly mentioned being distracted by the music. We were slowing down for a turn, everyone with signals on, and he came up the tailpipe of another rider. One more rider went down trying to avoid the mess, and the rider in question ended up with a pretty bad concussion...he went to hospital, couldn't remember what was going on, etc.
We also had a bit of an incident on New Years' Day. Eric (BMW guy) was riding with his iPod on (he always does), and he didn't notice his rear tire spinning up in the first couple of turns outside Saratoga...so he went a little faster, and lowsided. I'm pretty sure the iPod was a factor in that one, but to be fair the ego (I can beat the sportbikes on my tractor!) was another.

Sorry man, you broke my heart.
Though you did miss a good time, and lots of time on the road to listen to music.
So who else sings in their helmet?

I sing in my helmet. I often don't realize I'm singing out loud when I have my ipod on. When I catch myself, I wonder if the people with their windows down could hear me singing as I passed them. A little embarrassing. I've probably creeped out a few people who only hear part of what I'm singing, especially if it's something like "Last Caress." I never hum or yodel, but I do blurt out random groupings of swear words when someone cuts me off, pulls out in front of me or tries to change lanes into me.

I sing all the time, mainly practice for my weekly kareoke routine. I whistle a lot in my helmet too.
I also like to scream in a really high pitch voice while looking straight ahead when stopped at lights.
If I see a pretty lady walking on the street, I hit on her in my helmet "hello lady, you have very nice legs..."

'Right here right now' pops into my head a lot. But mostly its beat-boxing to something a bit more abstract and techno like.
Sometimes I just like to do a little 'call and response' with my engine.
gaaaaawwd I want to go ride now.

I love the 70's for how this kind of crazy sh*t would go on right in the streets with kids running for their lives. Nowadays you'd need permits, roads roaped off, aerial support and permission from 9 city departments.

I spare others, including myself, from listening to my nasal singing voice.
One thing I'll never do again is smoke a cigar then ride. I kept burping up cigar.
