I experimented

Purely organic beer has zero negative effect

I am going to explore the possibility that this is some kind of reaction to a preservative

That's interesting, I had a similar realization.  I drink a lot of wine, and I like reds only -- the kind that cause migraines.

I found a moltepulciano called Tommolo which is organic BUT the label says it has sulfites.  Some people say there is a link between sulfites and migraines, but I have found otherwise -- some sulfited wines give me a headache and others nada.

Whisky on the other hand just gives me artistic license.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

brings one a day closer to death...

and in typical Alfred E. Neuman fashion...

or Mr. Natural style...

I'm gonna try and do it again tomorrow.

Some red wines are loaded with sulfiites, like that gallon jug of red that you drink all week after opening, some are just in a bottle that was rinsed in a mild sulphite solution, then there are all levels between.  You may also be reacting to tannic acid.  If you react to an expensive Bordeau aged in oak, but not an inexpensive light red it is probably the tannins.

Well, in moderation it's fine to think that way.  [beer]

Most microbreweries use premium ingredients and little to no preservatives so I would try that route.
