I watched Barbara Walters interview with Mickey.  He said in his meltdown, it wasn't drugs or alcohol that did it, but personal demons.  Definitely an interesting actor.  I liked him in sin city.

I found it a tad bit depressing.

it was hard to get into the faux-documentary style of the story at first...

The material was fresh enough to be worth a viewing, though!

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie with a performance that affected me like that.  Wow.

+1 for Tomei.  Nude or not, she is hot.  And her performance was outstanding too.

We saw it on Friday evening, and to be honest we just couldn't see what all the praise was about. I was really looking forward to seeing it, perhaps my expectations were a bit high, but I personally found the movie to be too anticlimactic and predictable. The most touching scene was of course one shown in the previews with him admitting his mistakes to his daughter. However, aside from the obvious 'hurt' of both his real life and that of a wrestlers', we weren't all that impressed. Marrissa's role could have had much more impact and offered more depth to the story if so much of the filming hadn't focused on the "misunderstood stripper with a heart of gold" aspect.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a solid 7.5

:-\

But on the flip side, way to go on making a comeback!  [thumbsup]

I saw it at a preview screening in Georgetown with a a Q&A after with Tomei and Aronofsky.  It was weird to see Tomei in person after seeing so much of her in the movie.....
