Update on the chop/bob
«
on:

I finally found a tank to play with. It's just sitting on the frame in the pics. I have quite a bit of chopping to do on it. It was still cool to see the lines starting to come together. The tank was cheap, so no love lost if it ends up in a dumpster. The fuel pump is going to be tricky. I might just end up doing an external. Were going to change the bars a bit too. Sorry I suck so bad at taking pics..............

I really love what you have done so far, it takes a bit of balls to go for something so drastic.
Just wanted to share a bit of reference.
http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2008/09/18/buell-conversion-kit-from-fusion-motorcycles/
It's a Buell that has been converted into a very similar design as what you are going for.
Good luck with the build!

There's quite a bit of 'shrinkage' needed on that tank man.... But it's lookin' good so far!!!

Kind of, that was a touchy subject for me, I'm over it now. The guy doing my welding is doing another one for our local Duc dealer owner. His is supposed to be a lot different, he used the same rear suspension as mine. I was kind of bummed, and a little intimidated. he has a lot more resources and $$ than I do, so his will probably hit the road first. He is a super cool guy though, and runs a great shop (where lots of my money goes) I look forward to hanging with him when both bikes are done. Besides, we all know Stew is the OG

Personally, I'd throw that tank in the garbage and build something a bit more suited to the bike. How about a chin fairing that IS the fuel tank, with just a dummy cover up top? Or no tank up top? Or something crazy up there like a statue of a stripper created with weaved

yeah I was at work, our network sucks, it does weird stuff. My bad. Sorry
This is kind of the top heavy look I might shoot for. A little more old school twist maybe. we'll see what the tank becomes. Or maybe I'll go with the stripper statue! (wish I knew how to use photo shop)

LOL, it was just weird is all
If you can/could stretch the stock, and lower it, I think that would lend itself better to the overall look of the bike.
I wish I could afford to buy a power hammer and english wheel...and then have enough time to figure out how to use them!
