Both FedEx'd and UPS'd tents/luggage will be accepted in advance of showing up.  HOWEVER, you will be responsible for getting to a local UPS/FedEx shop for return shipment.

I did this on a moto trip once. I had the shipper (Aim Mail Center) print me a return ticket and he scheduled the pick up at the hotel for me. So I just repacked it, taped it closed, put the return ticket on the box, and left it at the hotel check in counter. It was home before I was.
