So, over the past few weeks I have done some re-wiring to clean up the right side of the bike. Stu was nice enough to send me a new starter wire long enough to go around the other side of the bike. I also extended the wires for the oil temp and pressure senders to route them in a less conspicuous location. Here's a couple pics.    |

Idea -- how about some really small diameter stainless steel weaved oil line (or even a hardline) to cover the oil pressure switch and wire? Then a drilled out AN fitting slipped over the switch itself. It would look like an oil line then or at least the old style mechanical oil line going to the gauge.
Perfect situation is to redesign the sidecase cover and make all the uglies disappear. But that is a lot of work as I'm discovering...

did this on my old 620 ( the SS weave) but i could never get it to my satisfaction  |

Looks good Nakid, now find yourself a hypermotard oil delivery line, its a straight bolt on and really cleans up the beltside. I've done mine but havent yet rerouted the wires,that'll be soon.  If that were me I'd also do something with the spark line, you cant hide it ,I think I'd give it a coloured sleeve or something....not being cheeeky,just thinking out loud. |

I've thought of that, but those things are pretty expensive new and I doubt you'll find any in the salvage market yet.
As far as the plug wires, the only thing I can think of to make them stand out less is to get rid of the writing on it...

Looks amazing. I think I'd class that as a winter job though. Lot of time and thought needed to get it perfect I imagine.

I just measured mine out an dwent to a stereo store and had them make up a new line for me on the starter. Replacing it took 20 minutes. Then I cut the oil line and soldered in an extension of wire about 8 inches long and put some shrink wrap over the line. That probably took 20 minutes too.
