And now for something completely different…

If anyone is into the LeMans-style Sports Prototype series (FIA World Endurance Championship that includes the 24 Hours of LeMans) FOX Sports has made a deal with the series promotors to broadcast the entire 2015 season in the U.S.

http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/2015-fia-wec-schedule-released-nurburgring-added-101114

If you'll notice the series is coming to COTA September 19.  I WILL be there  waytogo

Let's hope their coverage is better than their MotoGP coverage where you are lucky if they show the MotoGP race live and the Moto2 and Moto3 races at all.   Roll Eyes

COTA was fun.  Glad the weather held out.  We got rained on a little on Friday while at the track and that was it.  Looking forward to next year.

Think we will drive down Saturday and come back Monday so we can hang out at the track a little afterwards instead of bolting home.

Cool! Glad to hear you all had a good time  waytogo

As fas as coming back on Monday instead of leaving Sunday after the race, that's what Alan and I decided we would do the next time we see a race there.  I-35 is a nightmare.  On a good day.  Add in the mass exodus of north-bound post-race goers on a Sunday night and it becomes a totally different animal… maybe something like a rabid hedgehog.

We left the track right after the MotoGP race and like we did 2 years ago we headed North and EAST. We meandered through the countryside and worked our way over to Madisonville on I-45. To be honest I don't think we saved any TIME by avoiding I-35 as the way we went is quite a bit FURTHER, but we had a nice, comfortable, enjoyable drive with virtually NO TRAFFIC.

We drove down Friday on a similar route.  We went through Mexia and down through Rockdale.  I agree that it was a very pleasant drive through those roads with little traffic.

We took our chances on I35 on the way home and hit very little traffic!  Made it back to Garland by 7PM even with a stop at Buc-ees.

Next year we need to meet up at some point at the track.

I am going to try to have a race watch at the house sometime this year.  I can stream the races from my iPad to my TV so we can watch all races without commercials.

You put out the invitation whenever you feel up to it! If Dax is around I am sure he'll show up too. Where has he been recently? He is usually around bothering someone............

I'm here to please.

Working way too much. American Airlines flight attendants, and some pilots, are now on my friends list on Facebook.   Wink

Maybe the Mugello race on May 31st.  Let me check with the wife and make sure we don't have anything going on that weekend and I will start a new thread if it is a go.

I just read that Marquez broke his little finger on his left hand. He could be "iffy" for Jerez.

Whaaa?  Dirt bike accident?  Slammed his hand in a car door… WTF?

Don't get me wrong, I like Marquez, and for sure I'm lovin' watching Rossi spank everybody - including Marquez - but you'd like to have the Honda rider fighting-fit to defend his title.  Rossi may ot think so, tho   Cool

He was apparently dirt tracking and got knocked down by another rider. He will ride this weekend, we'll have to wait and see what his injury does to his speed.

And I think the Little Spanish Bastard is still out after his arm pump surgery.

Hold on.  You're not knocking Pedrosa are you?  Evil  Aside from Rossi, he's one of my favorites.  Lorenzo?  Eh, not so much.  And Marquez… absolutely never.  Reminds me of the very young Sebastian Vettel  Roll Eyes

But I can't believe there isn't some sort of written clause in a GP rider's contract that says "NO DIRT BIKES, eva!"  Marquez is not the first one to fall afoul of this sort of injury… (You see what I did there?  "…fall afoul…" )

Yeah, lame I know. I'll have my glass of milk and go to bed now.
