is that warm in Belgium?  ? Grin

Yeah... well... no.  not really. Roll Eyes  Cold and wet, but that shouldn't stop us from sitting on patios and whistling away, should it?  Grin

Other than the throw down on 455 and head trauma and the high side at TWS with spine damage we all should live the life of Andre!!! Hey, where the hell is your brother Gus? Family and home only account for so much. Where's that Parts Unlimited 999S? [moto] Hope you are having fun in Belgium while we waste away in North Texas! waytogo drink chug Your next wonderful beer should be in our honor! laughingdp

And so it shall be!  To be honest me and some friends have been on a Guinness and Kilkenny streak, but the odd Westmalle or Grimbergen still makes it through...

BTW, if you guys ever have a chance, try a beer called "Bons Vœux" (actually 'avec les bons vœux de la brasserie Dupont' but who has the time to call it by its full name?)  I think Central Market type places might carry it.  Fantastic brew!

But I digress.  Not the thread to be talking about brews...  I think there's a 100+ page thread for that!!!

Superpole is tomorrow, right?

By the way, last I heard Gus was slaving away at his work.  70 hour weeks, no weekend, etc...  I haven't actually talked to him in a couple of months!  Guess they're having him work enough to make up for all the jobs that got cut...

It looks like the 999USA is going to have to wait a while to be ridden again... shame!

Oh, btw... I just picked up a French bike magazine (L'Intégral) and they have a nice 6 page article on NCR.  Couple of full page shots in there.  Highly suggest picking one up.  Nice way to brush up on that french too!

Took French in high school... sorry don't remember shit. Of course that was so damn long ago I don't remember any of the English stuff either. Tongue Sorry to hear that Gus is still slaving away. Damn, hasn't that been the same story for the last couple of years? What the hell does he do anyway? I don't even like my brother and I speak to him more than you do with Gus. That dude needs to start living and stop working so much. Nobody on their death bed has ever said that they wished they had worked more. Roll Eyes Kids, wife, home, etc. are one thing, that's a given... but you should never let work f'up your life that bad. Old fart, just saying. waytogo

I think we're all in total agreement (even Gus).  But that seems to be the nature of financial auditing in a time of downsizing... Or maybe at any time.  It's f'ed up, that's for sure.

"forensic auditing" that's where it's at   Roll Eyes   Sorry to hear Gus is so buried with work.  But...

How ya' doin' Andre?!  Fun to follow some of your shenanigans on this thread.  Yeah, I'm seriously jealous  laughingdp  Oh well; when are back to D/FW?  Ever?  Evil

Lisa

P.S.

You know, I think I saw some of this the other day when I was at the store - wedged right between the Keystone Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon.  Didn't know what it was so I just went with the Keystone; why mess with success?

P.S.P.S.

When is superpole?

Hey Lisa!

I'm doing well, surviving the M.A. so far, so no complaints  waytogo.  Life's on hold for a bit, while I finish my thesis, but I'm hoping on a trip to Paris to either celebrate the completion or to get away from the thesis for a couple of days.  I'm not sure when I'll be back for good, might be next christmas (unlikely), the summer after that, or maybe 2011...  It all depends on how far I go with the grad work.  I think I'll brave it out for another master's after this one (maybe literature, maybe a pre-docish master's in philosophy).  So that's all up in the air for now... Gotta finish one before going to the other, right?

I might be back for a little while over the summer, but that seems unlikely as well.  I think I need to improve my french (quite a bit) so I might just stick around for that.  At least I've given up on Dutch and German for now, so life should be a little simpler!

Oh, I think superpole just ended.  I just got home to that little red light on my DVR, so hopefully it's all going to be there popcorn!  Man, I hope I get to go to a race this year!

p.s.  I think I saw a bottle of Saison Dupont (same brewery as the Bons Vœux) at the Central Market in Plano this xmas...  So there's hope  you might see a Bons Vœux some where!

Yeah, just watched superpole. Twas a doozie!  waytogo waytogo waytogo

Very nice to see the commentators in the french Eurosport having nothing but good things to say about Spies (and even trying to call him Elbowz  Grin)!  Smrz was on fire, Kiyonari tucked the front on turn two of his first hot lap, and the Ducati Corse guys seemed to have phoned this one in.  Byrne put in a good effort, as did Nakano.

No big accidents, which was nice to see, and overall a nice spectacle.

Hope I didn't give too much away in terms of spoilers...  But if you do want spoilers, here it goes:  (Pole - Spies. 2nd - Smrz. 3rd Biaggi.  Then: Haga, Sykes, Nakano, Checa, Byrne.)

GIANT SPOILER!!!!!!! GO TO ANOTHER THREAD IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT SUPERPOLE!!! DO IT.... NOW!!

You should try to see the pole lap on youtube if possible.  He smashed the record by .8 of a second, and was wrestling the bike out of corners.  Great to watch!

Really a pity we don't have Bayliss in there for some prespective; wonder if he'll be tempted out of retirement what with all the hub-bub?  laughingdp  And I guess, more importantly, if our home-grown talent walks away with everything this year, how long will he even bother with WSBK?  Put him on the D16GP7 I say!

Looks like the best lap video hasn't been posted yet.

Here's the link for the highlights (doesn't have the full pole lap, though):

Ben Spies is on Fire i wouldnt compare him with Bayliss just because is a different Era, For example you cant compare bayliss with Polen etc etc.... Different Era different riders...

Ben is there for something good and his target is to replace Vale when he retires in a couple years.... Ben will get a Factory m1 in MotoGP!

No reason to have Spoilers here just because SpeedTV will never show Superpole   laughingdp bang head Tks God for worldsbk TV! bow down

How about Biaggi and Nakano, Brand new bike second race and he puts this thing in top 3!!!

If Fabrizio keeps riding like that he is off and Smrz is On the factory team, Ducati never keeps uncopetitive riders for longer than 2 seasons! Lips Sealed Same goes for Nicky, if he doesnt deliver by the mid of this seasson he will is going to look for a new ride for 2010! coffee

For those who cant wait for SuckTV try this link is pretty simple to make it work... just basic copy paste on the browser tools..

They didn't have Mac instructions.  I tried it anyway, but I couldn't get my system to transfer to the proxy IP address.
