I wonder if, on average compared to other professional riders, Hopkins has had more than his fair share of crashes?  He and Haga both...

Haga is still winning though  Undecided

Could it really happen?

Probably all depends on how many wins Lorenzo gets this season  Evil

I say no way.  Valentino is closing in on all time records.  He's very well aware of his place in history and I'd imagine he wants to put his name on top of a few more lists before he retires.  Why join F1 at this point?  He'll have at best a brief career and isn't going to approach the same success he has on bikes.  I don't know if you guys watch F1, but there are a lot of talented drivers at the moment.  Rossi isn't going to just hop in the car and run up front with these guys.  Massa ran 2.5s faster than Rossi during the same test.

Look at Schumi.  He's running 8-10th place on average and he's got a helluva lot more seat time and experience.  Its not that easy.

Just glanced at the Superpole results for Assen; should be "a real corker," whatever that means.  Beats a fake corker, I guess.

To stay on theme.. nice description of current motogp fuel strategy in Nicky's interview for Indy - now if they can just figure that out on the street bikes when you hit reserve to help get you to the next fuel stop...  Roll Eyes

HENNY RAY ABRAMS: We saw that Rossi ran out of gas on the cool-down lap, and he did that even though he had the slowest top speed. Did you finish with much gas in the tank?

HAYDEN: I finished with the right calculation. I probably couldn't have did another half-lap, but they have it down to a complete science. The fuel consumption changes as the race goes on to make sure you get across the line. If it knows you're not going to finish, it leans out. If it knows you're ahead of schedule, it richens the bike and gives you power because they can't ever control wheelspin, draft, things like that. So it calculates itself as the race goes on.

MotoGP needs to catch up with WSBK!! bang head
I predict it will, and at Jerez this weekend - a short, very technical track - should be interesting with the Tech3 Yammerhammers having done fairly well at Losail. Take away the dragstrip straights of Qatar, and it might just be anybody's race. VR will have to work hard for another championship this year.

Again, just wow! What a great race. You could throw a blanket over the top 7-8 places at the end!

that would be kind of mean, don't you think?  i mean, then they would have a blanket over their faces and wouldn't be able to see anything.

Yeah, but they would be all warm and snuggly. Grin

Yeah, in the past MotoGP was only presented live when Speed ported the feed to CBS Sports. Last year it was only for 3-4 races, including Laguna Seca and Indy, which were easily presented within waking hours in the US. Laguna Seca only the two years before that, Looks like Speed may be taking the helm this year, for once. Increased ratings, perhaps?
