Good luck to Larry. I think most of us could see this coming. And I am sure Bimmer is happy to have a hand in AMA SBK.

I ran across this tidbit this morning:

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2010/Successful+shakedown+for+Suter+Marc+VDS+MotoGP+machine

What's interesting about the article is that it discusses the MotoGP rule change that comes into effect for the 2012 season that allow teams to run production-based 1000cc engines in a prototype chassis.  This particular story is about a new team that is using the BMW 1000cc motor.

Maybe the likes of Aprillia and KTM could enter MotoGP as engine suppliers in 2012.  More variety in the series should liven things up even more while filling out the grid with more respectable numbers;  imagine a MotoGP grid as jam packed as Moto2  Shocked

I haven't got time to track the reference down at the moment, but there was talk that Ducati might return to the 999cc motor under the 2012 rule change. Not sure whether it was reported or rumored.

Right, it's hard to believe that Ducati would just abandon the last four years time and cost spent developing the 800 cc package. The withdrawal from WSBK and acquisition of VR shows that they are deadly serious about winning in MotoGP, so I wouldn't anything past them.

I just wish I could remember where I heard this specious bit of "information". I know it was late in the season somewhere on MotoGP.com - maybe Ian Wheeler said it during a QP session, he's got big ears for paddock chatter. Can't verify that, because my video subscription expired, and to me, an off-season pass just isn't worth $30.

Hopefully they won't find Ian in some drainage ditch in the Borgo Panigale this winter.

Indy's contract with Dorna was only renewed for 2011. They'd better fix their circuit, like taking the bumps out of the oval/infield transitions, or risk getting bumped from the calendar.

Nice news for DiSalvo. He's a good rider. I assume this means Rapp is now without a ride. :'(
