Sorry to hear about getting canned.

I basically keep everything for sale.  If somebody wants to give me a fair offer for just about anything I have, I'm willing to listen.

...so about that redundant kidney....  cheeky

Yikes, getting laid off really sucks.  Been there, done that.  Never fun, but keep the faith.

Terrible time to sell anything, a bike in the winter, the economy sucks.  Hold on as best you can.  And truthfully, if you are still making payments, it is really hard to sell anyway, since you don't have legal title until it's paid off, and no one will give you the money without the title,... classic Catch-22.

Good luck.

I have no useful advice, just wanted to say it sucks about the layoff.

Only sell if you have to, but don't wait until you need to.

I've found that if I sell high dollar items with the intent on buying them again, other things always come up and I never buy something.  I've also found that if I really need to sell something to make some money it never sells and when it does it goes for much less than I want because I am desperate.

THANKS for the advice and well wishes everyone!  I do have a good network of former co-workers (altho most are now looking for jobs too, lol).  I did manufacturing in the biotech industry for about 8yrs, i'm currently finishing my BS in Business - hopefully summer or fall this yr, if they stop canceling classes due to budget cuts.

I had thought about selling the Taco (bought it new in 08 for moving around the toys), but like we all know, not many people are buying.

So if anyone has connections in the Pharma, Biopharma, brewing, or similar fermentation related job let me know. I've also done remedial algebra tutoring for middle/high school kids in the past soo I guess that's another route to look to...

Thanks again!

First, sorry about losing your job. Second, I have a friend at Genetech. Drop me a PM to confirm what you're looking for and I can check to see what's out there.
