so, i'm finally getting around to finding replacements for the stock turn signals, and wanted to ask around for some FHE with what people are using.  i'm not looking to go pricey, but would prefer to go LED for better visibility.  i've used the shock racing "mini" before, and are decent LEDs for being $30/pair.  http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Shock_Racing_LED_Turn_Signals--62-SHOCK-1.html

other suggestions?

CycleGear has some as well in that price range: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=MRX_LA1_G

I installed some a while back but never installed a resistor. They blink rather quickly....

I bought a set of those and didn't like them, IMO, they felt cheap.  Try http://www.advancedmotorsports.com/product-p/97064b01a.htm   Pricey but they look very nice and feel solid.   I just took my rear and integrated both bikes with this http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/CTL-0023-1-IT/Electrical/CTL-0023-1-IT.html and just changed the front two from amber to smoked lens with amber bulbs from Monster Parts also.  Ask for Jeff, very nice guy and tell him I sent you.  He will treat you right.

oh, buy this resistor not the crappy white ones that get hot http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/16/scID/114/IMID/718
Much cleaner and trusty.  I've had this one on my cruiser for over 7 years and no problems.

Two words:

RIZ  OMA

I've got the Avio's up front and the Zeros in back and I love 'em. Very bright and, true to Rizomas form, built extremely well.

I'm curious, where did you mount the resistor boxes?  Also, are you using spacers?  Got pics?

I've got this LED set-up on my bike:

They're from Cycle Gear, solid aluminumm made in the U.K., and cost $30.00.  I did not run them through a resistor, per se: when I installed the rear LED brake light with integrated rear turn signals, that arrangement needed in-line resistors (I used two long, square cross-section ceramic white ones about the width of a pencil that I've got mounted under the seat).  My blinkers do not flash fast.

On a side note, I've got a black set just like the one pictured that I'm not using.  Just let me know (maybe I can give you some cash and trade you the blinkers for those trick Napoleaon bar end mirrors  Grin )

+1

I love my Rizomas, they aren't cheap but in this case I think you get what yo pay for. I have the Track 01's. I had to use the spacers in order for them to work with the tailchop and the seat cowl. Still runnin stock front signals (hopefully not for long  Evil) my blink rate didn't seem to change at all with just the rear.

Best place to get anything Rizoma is www.pjsparts.com

Just a note for you guys about the resistors and the blink rate.

IIRC, you only need to run 1 set of resistors
if you run LED blinkers up front and stock in the back... you should add the resistors in line with the stock blinkers  (ie under the seat)
if you run LED blinkers in back... you should add the resistors in line with the LED blinkers in the back (ie under the seat)
if you run LED blinkers front and back... you only need 1 set of resistors to get the normal blink rate.  (ie under the seat)
