It's an 06 620 Dark Multi, which will probably become my winter and grocery/pizza pick up bike... at least, as long as I can keep myself from modding it....

Maybe I could turn it into a more dirt capable bike... hmmmmm...

Any ideas anyone?

It's pretty bare bones stock as of now, but the price was right, and I wanted another bike... well, I will always want another bike... damn addictions...

Yep, I wanted both of them, but someone beat me in the last 4 seconds on the 1000.

I don't know. With that header pipe where it is I wouldn't think it would be a good dirt bike.

I like your idea of using it for a Gofor bike. Pizza, a few groceries , a 12 pack or whatever.     Dolph      :)

Yeah, in all reality I should probably keep it just like it is, be sensible and reasonable and all that jazz, and just keep my eyes open for another bike that is worth pimpin out, like a sportclassic, or monster.

One concern I've always had about taking any Duc off-road is the forces that are placed on the swingarm, which are subsequently translated to the engine case. All it would take is one instance of well-placed, ill-timed and unavoidable lateral impact load at the swingarm pivot beyond what the cases were designed to absorb, and it's all over.  :o

I rode a 620 dark Multi for a month and it was one of the most comfortable and extremely utilitarian motorcycles ever made.  If you want more off road capability you should contact the folks at terra mostro and see if they will sell you one of their engine guards that forms a double cradle from the front engine mount to the foot peg bracket.

A guy on the Multi board makes some off-road parts for the MTS. I have the skid plate (keeps water off the cylinder/sump so the bike will come up to temp in rain). It isn't all for sale yet, but he's working on it.

This of course won't make it so you can run Dakar...but it will make it better for general dirt roads. They actually don't do too bad on fire roads and such...I've taken mine off-road a few times and had fun.

Since it's a 620, the 1st thing you should do is get better suspension. Either pick up some old MTS 1000 forks, or Evolution Suspension in San Jose that will put GSXR internal in the stock forks. The stock forks/shock suuuuck.

Well, I imagine there's a therapy group somewhere, and for a low enough price, you might be able to unload it on some sucker.

Maybe someone who's blind but scheduled for eye surgery to restore vision so they can see and wants to have a bike for after the operation. That's about the only thing I can see, although maybe you can pay silentbob to run over with his truck repeatedly until it's less ugly? Sorry, I can't think of much else to help solve the issue of owning a multiugly.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

You could also streetfighter it. Mines in the process...here's a pic of it from last week:
