damn...wish i would have known this earlier... i ended up spending about $150.  but i think the results will be well worth the money.

i took it for a test run earlier...pretty good stuff.  took me three freaking miles to figure out the calibration finally for running/walking (which doesn't count as a "workout").  and all that to find out that it was already dead on.  after mile three i was getting tired so i did another few minutes as a basic workout just so i could have some data to upload to the site when i got back home and see what it looked like.  pretty cool stuff i think.  now i'm just looking for people to set up challenges with!   waytogo

My wife and I both have the Nike+sportband (no ipod needed). While it isn't the most accurate thing out there, it works indoors and out (unlike gps), i can watch my pace as I'm running unlike a pedometer, and it makes me want to upload good data. I'm almost to the 500mile mark since July. My wife and I used the 'smartcoach' from runnersworld.com. You'll have to log onto runnersworld.com and search for smartcoach. We used that to set up a 16 week training program for the Dallas Running Club 1/2 marathon on Nov. 2. It worked well for us. I used to HATE running with a passion. I just did 6 miles today in San Fransisco.

I'd be willing to do some challenges with you. email me at sdlrodeo@yahoo.com and we'll set it up.
