M1100s at Frasers.

The new ducati M1100s, looks good in parts. Not so sure about the welding around the split in the upper pipes
looks pretty average and at $24k AUD on the road a little pricey too, that's serious money for a 2V Air Cooled bike.

24K? yikes! So chuck in an ECU and Termis and you are looking at what, $27K?! :-Xn Wonder if the crap exchange rate has anything to do with it. I reckon one thing about the 1100s though, at that price, I reckon you can be fairly confident you won't see many of 'em on the road.

I think for 24k I would rather source one of the last Tri Colour S4Rs Monsters.
On a good note this will keep the S2R1000 resale price up.

Yeah 24K and no bling at all.
So by the time you add pipes and ECU as Craig said then rearsets and other go fast good looking bits your nearer the 30k mark.
I've already been shopping for something else after the visit there today.
But I do like the look of it in the first image.

When you think it over 24k for the latest and the greatest is not so bad it is on road and a s model
If you look at last years S2R1000 it was 17k plus on roads say 19k ride away for a stocker
look at the difference between the s4r and the s4rs there is 4 k in it
So lets assume that the extras eg: ohlins and carbon bits on the M1100s are worth 3k, if you take it of the cost of the M1100s the stocker M1100 would be around 21k ride away,So 2k for the latest and the greatest
Not so bad considering the complete overhaul of the model [moto]
Lets just face it we dont buy Ducati's on value for money
Just to add a note the ew R1 is going to be 26.5k for a japper

The more I talk and think about it the more I'm confused.
Have to wait to see how it rides.
but still you confuse me each time we talk.
Which way to go, new M1100s or M1100
Or
Pre-loved S*R of which there are two that have my attention.

Ride them all Matty and buy the one that grabs you. It's the only way you'll be happy. - hungry, but happy.

Well I know " F " all but they look more Munster than Monster to me
sorry to all out there that like them but I just dont get it.
I had lusted over owning my own Monster for 10 years
and on seeing the old and new side by side in the show room
there was no easier decision , even for someone who loves
new and improved anything .
I put my money down for the old model not the Herman .
(I know only have the 695 but all the new models have the same non M look)
I thought they would grow on me and I would regret not having the " new model"
but I don't.

I too am attached to the original look!
The new bike is going to the Jap way with all the space age looking dials & headlights.
Maybe I just don't like change.
