Funny...this is what the calendar on my wall says next to my desk:

Government
If you think the problems we create are bad, just wait until you see our solutions.

My little sis gave that to me for Christmas.  Every month has a different "demotivational message."   laughingdp

At first skim i thought they wanted to ban the bikes cause it isnt safe for a kid to ride... then i see its because it has some tiny amount of lead paint? you cant lick the paint with your helmet on! but really, this is stupid, kids who have the chance to ride at that young of age are really lucky, I wish I had the opportunity

well amici ... one week to go, and it does not look good for this stoooooopid law to get blocked (or at least an exemption for motorcycles).

this is really a bad thing for motorcycling in general, and manufacturers and dealers in particular.

A quote from a person in that article

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We make electric motorbikes for kids. Ages 4 to 10, which are great to learn on but also for competition level Trials (BMX with a motor) Unfortunately we can't pretend our bikes are for 12 and over, and the Gov has already said that won't work. Our paint meets the new levels but there is inacessable lead in the frames, spokes etc just like the Honda's and Yamaha's. Also every motorcycle electric and gas powered has a 'sealed' lead acid battery. There are no exceptions even though a kid would never get at the lead.

The law had good intentions but terrible unintended consequences. It's not only bikes, but bicycles, clothes, helmets, ski gear, scientific equipment for schools, even the desks in schools, and kids will also have to be banned from libraries. Heaven forbid they might learn to question their governments actions!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So even if they fix the paint issue the kids are still shit out of luck  Huh?

Well kids might want to lick my bike too. Is that next? They probably shouldn't come home or ride in the car either, too unsafe. Definitly should not use the computer or watch TV either.

Where do I stop?
