deal on rotors if I can figure out how to get rid of the bling carrier finish

I ran across this on ebay the other day:

Braking (the company) rotors for half price.  I asked the seller how he could do it, and this was his response:

"we JUST set up on ebay to try to move some overstocked items. they are not being discontinued but management wanted some moved asap at all costs"

Almost sounds too good to be true, like maybe there's a nigerian prince involved, and there's only 1 feedback so far.  But the seller's profile and the other items for sale indicate they are associated with Sunstar, a sister company to Braking.

So evidently the polished (chrome looking) aluminum carriers aren't as big a hit with the euro bike crowd as with the rice rocket  or harley owners.  But that's the thing, I don't care much for the look either.

So any thoughts on how to tone down the polished carrier (which they recommend against disassembling).  Sand blasting, chemicals?  Whatever I use I don't want to mess up the rotor button function.  And I have a fair amount of brushed aluminum on the bike so a finish that resembled that would work and I wouldn't have to repaint.

BTW, I'm in no way associated with these guys.  Just thought I'd share.

Bead blasting would definitely tone it down but make the carrier hard to keep clean. Anodizing is the best finish followed by powdercoat. Becareful with the extra thickness of the powdercoat around the floater buttons.

Another great idea.    I prefer a wet 600 grit. 

The key is to ALWAYS go in the same direction or spin it for a rounded brushed pattern.

^^ I'd do the same for the finish. As for price and quality, I tried to view the web site but it kept crashing. They seem to be more established in off roading. Here's what I would do if I had the extra cash. Buy a set, then sit on them for awhile (not literally). Then watch to see if the prices do in fact go up. Then you will know you got a good deal and not shitty rotors.

I'm a big fan of the scotch brite pads, having used (a lot of) them on my slip-ons and header.  But when I used them on a small spot on my alu swingarm it left the area much darker for some reason.

Remove the carrier and have it powedercoated or anno'ed whatever color you'd like.  For something that small, it shouldn't cost more than $30.  Or tape of the rotor and spray that carrier yourself.

I also got this from an online search: These rotors are now legal replacements for all Formula USA classes, all CCS Superbike and Super sport classes and all WERA Superbike and Super stock classes. They weigh from 1/2 to 1 pound less per rotor than stock rotors.
