That is awesome!
Only 200 from a supercharged 2.6? That's pretty conservative, don't you think?
Don't forget that's a torque number. I have no idea if that's conservative or not. No experience with these engines in boosted form. All the internals are forged, and from what ive seen on the net, could be good for twice that number if we wanted it.

So when it was
here
....
Why did you not paint the filthy dang firewall shown
here
....
Sheesh! Powdercoat the rear end but don't touch the engine bay? I would chase you outta the shop with a hammer.
Im not in charge of the build. Im just the hired gun to weld/fab/make it fit.
The owner didn't want to get into it too deep. We cleaned off some of that junk and left it at that.
He had the car Tuff-Coated when it was 2 days old. This is basically tar, and it is absolutely terrible to clean off. To do it right, we would have had to strip everything out of the engine bay and have it blasted. If we did that, the owner would have had the entire car done and we weren't looking to do a frame off deal.
This is not a show car.
It's going to live the life of a hot street car, burnout machine, open trackday toy. I don't expect that it will be crashed at the track, but I will not be surprised if it does happen.
Again, not a show car.

Might as well start with you
My work is solid. This is just a rare occasion when I'm doing what someone else tells me

Typical response from someone who hasn't driven a old rwd hopped up celica.
They are a blast to drive with 175+ hp.

Yeah...I would give anything to have my '74 Datsun 260Z back. That car still makes me have naughty thoughts and I sold it 12 years ago...
Great work ML.

Old Celicas and Supras are sexy. Like an efficient muscle car that the Americans should have built at the time. The newer ones, not so much. The first gen Celicas were the most gorgeous, like a small copy of a Mustang fastback. The second gen started the ugly lego-brick styling.

No slur. Being Shop-H is cool..
You know, being good with welding & taking apart transmissions & stuff.
If your going for the Metrosexual thing, then I guess it's not cool.

What makes this car that desirable?
