Hi people,
I’m looking for help to make my handler bar more comfortable. I’m hoping to bend it in by a few inches and shortening them.
Can anyone recommend who and where I can go to do this? Any pointers on how much someone would charge for something like this would be nice as well.

You can get suburban machinery bars for that. And on the plus side they look make the beast with two backsing cool.

Use a hammer for the bending. lay it flat on your curb and bang away. A sledge hammer would work even better you won't have to hit as much to get that "right" bend. And for the bar trimming I've heard that you can use your garbage disposal unit to cut material like aluminum, human bones, and pencil crayons. Good luck and remeber to wear protective shoes.

Stick a broom handle at the end on the bar. I hear you can get just the right bend with that. Try using sand paper to slowly shorten those bars to just the right length. Strong emphasis placed on the word "slowly."  You know you're my boy Alvinite. |

You guys are crazy!
Listen Alvin, I'm a part time orthopedic surgeon. It would be easier to put a new bend in your arms. Like Vinucci said a sledge hammer always make's the job quicker but a good ballpeen will do the trick.
Maybe we can schedule this for the next maintenance day.

I agree with the Frank, I wouldn't bend em....
You can always fall off one for each side at 39.4 mph exactly....rinse & repeat as necessary till you get the right fit......

Or you could slide an eye hook into each end and attach a ratchet tiedown between them and crank away. JK buy don't bend. The fatigue factor worries me and you'll never get them to bend evenly.

yup, agree, no bend, but i'm sure you could find some bored machinist or bending unit that would do it for you for some cash on the side

Thanks to OnespeedPaul and baby Ella, I got my new handle bar installed and tweaked just right (after trying out 3 different ones). It's a good compromised to having a real clip-ons.. Check it out. this GT ride awesome now.  |

Yo Chris. How have you been? Paul and I were talking about you. Did you see what Paul did to his bike  BTW, the handle bars were off Chaparral, around 30 bucks and half of that is shipping  what did those bars come off of?
