thanks and yeah it's pretty impressive.  was torn between the dc14 (non ball) and the dc25 (ball) because there are pros and cons on both sides.  used one of those bed bath and beyond 20% discount coupons and saved $100!!  great deal.

hmmm... looking.  nope, not here.

it's not a new house, it's a new purchase.  i've been renting this place and just purchased it.  didn't even have to move!  woot!

i hate moving.

Ash - do you have any animals?  Just wondering how the dc25 does on dog hair.

no animals, just a girlfriend.

ahahahah that came out wrong.

but she does shed.

and to answer your question: as long as you empty the canister out after each cleaning you will be fine.  the dc25 uses a smaller canister than any of the other full size dyson uprights, so it's important to do this.  as for the brush, it's easy to remove and clean and unlike the non-ball uprights, is gear driven rather than belt driven.  the dc17 is known to have a problem dealing with the belt and hair which is one of the reasons why i didn't get it.  the dc14 is a little better but still belt driven so there's a consumable.
