Lots of Ducati owners on those web sites, if you really want to make this an event, those would be places to get more people.

Well, I think that if the peeps of DiTR want it a national event then they would more likely be the ones who would promote it. I for one will try like hell to get up there in August (my b-day present to me) to check it out. Growing up we spent the summers at Estes Park and I got to travel all over the Rockies. So, it's ingrained in my heart already. I think it's the perfect location for such an event. I would support the So Co riders 100% if they want to make it such an event.
