'03 800 Dark bone stock.  About 42 mpg no matter how I ride.  I was getting near 50mpg with the lean factory setting until I tuned it and richened up the mixture a bit.  It runs much better now with no backfiring but gets a little less mileage.

Update; Yes; there is many factors that effect MPG preformance; but generally it already looks like theres a range of between 35-45 MPG.  Milage is a good starting point to identify the mechanical heallth of an engine.  He Man identified that a valve adjustment might make a significant difference in milage.  This is intresting; Keep em comming, I'll try to do a summary in a week or 2.

OK Factors effecting (or is that affecting) Include ....
Engine - 800
Riding style / Riding conditions- city, non commuting, sometimes heavy on the throttal
Modifications - none
Octane - I'm using 94; expensive; I'm going to try the 87 or 89 for a while; further comments??.
Mechanical adjustments - good to 12 k Miles
perhaps quality & oil weight - 15 -50 Motol full synthetic

along with the obvious weight of the rider; aerodynamics etc lol, - 195, ft fairing, polished helmet; upright riding style ... with 803 cc's it cant make that much difference

Thanks; Cheers Duci Dave

Duc engines seem to run better on regular gas unless you've gone to high compression pistons.

04 749s mivv cans 120miles on a full tank

Didn't run out of gas on either but had the light on for quite a while before I got to those numbers.

My 2003 M1000s with just slip-ons gets 39-42 mpg in Iowa, but I get over 50 easy in South Dakota.  I figure the elevation difference?

DEVO!

105 - 120 per tank depending on how I ride.
Really Ducks like Reg gas?

Why dont you actually make this into a poll for everyones convience
About the same time you're dragging your knees through a series of tight left-right-handers on Sunday afternoon, some guy in white shoes is sweating a 3-foot putt. Go figure.

I consistently get 45-48mpg on 85 octane, the best I've ever gotten was 52.  95% of my riding is on the highway.
