I'd say go for it - that kind of accountability is what you want - yes?

Well, I ended up not going this route.. Instead, as you may have read from my other post, I found some S2r 1k fully adjustable Showas on ebay.  Racetech springs and gold valve kit are more affordable in combination with the Showas, and I believe will produce a better result.  I will post pics as soon as I get the tubes back from annodizing.

I have the matris kit and suburban machinery bars.  They will fit.  I later added bar risers but not to clear the fork adjusters.

Well shit. That's the info I was waiting to here.
Awesome. Let the saving of all pennies, dimes, and nickels commence.

No offence but you have no idea what you're talking about. While I agree that adding the Racetech springs and valves is a great upgrade it's not even close to being in the same league as adding the Matris cartridges.

I've also had the opportunity to ride an S4Rs with the Ohlins and even that wasn't as good as my bike with the Matris. With the Ohlins you would have to get into the R & T to get the same result.

You have to remember when you install a cartridge kit you are replacing all the working parts in the fork not just a few of them like when you do the Racetech valves and springs. It's like you bought a complete new set of front forks.

Yes, the route you chose is not a "better" setup, however you will be riding on a superior setup to what you were on, and that makes a big difference. So, as far as a better result, weighing cost vs. gain it might be the most advantageous for you, but its not going to be down right superior. At least without some voodoo magik.

Jason at DOS used to carry them, and there is a good reason why he doesn't anymore.

Can you elaborate please?

Thanks!   [moto]

In speaking with Jason he mentioned that becasue they are an Italian company they are hard to deal with. Nothing more, nothing less. In fact he absolutely loved the product and he has access to Ohlins as well which is why I initially contacted him when building my bike but he recommended the Matris over the Ohlins.

Had I not already had a previous experience with Matris I may have went with the Ohlins but becasue Jason recommended it I did it.

Thanks Tom - your bike feels quite planted, can't wait to give it a try after next Saturday  ;D
