Here's the skinny:

1)  Jason (the mechanic) has left Motopia; the service franchise is available,
2)  I have heard that one of AMS' top mechanics has decided to go it alone in McKinney.
3)  I gotta believe there are a hell of a lot more Ducatis in Dallas than McKinney,
4)  Rene @ Motopia would be interested in talking to him about working from that location,
5)  I have no idea how to contact this mechanic.

SO... if you can provide me (or Rene) with his name, phone #, email address, Rene wiil try to entice him to work from Motopia.

What's In It For You?   Convenient, knowledgeable Ducati service, better hourly rates.

REQUEST:  Please post or email Rene with info on how to contact our guy in McKinney ASAP.

Thanks.

Hypothetically, would this cause it to be more expensive to use this said mechanic if he worked out of Motopia, and would you have to be a member to access his services?  coffee

To respond:

No, you don't have to be a member to use the service department, and

"More expensive" than what?  The man is currently working in McKinney & charging $75/hour - and he has to multiply that times the number of hours business he gets there.  I would think that more bikes to work on (Dallas) would be appealing to him and, if anything, he might be able to lower his rate due to volume.  Not that he has to.

He has to have a place to work regardless.  For me, if it's a matter of paying $75/hour and having to transport my bike to McKinney and paying $75+X to have it handled at Motopia, I'd probably opt for Motopia.  Remember, this fellow has competition: $75 @ N. Dallas and $100 @ AMS.

It's something that he and Rene will have to work out in any event.

SO - name, address, phone, email???

Thanks,
George

AMS had/has 3 mechanics

Jeff Nash, He still works in AMS
Stuart  Rust ,he is in Mansfield and works mostly on Vintage British bikes
Brian Sharp opened a Ducati shop in Boulder CO
Jordan Rhodes still works in AMS as far as i know...  Grin

Are you sure this guy in Mckinny is an ex-AMS tech? Huh?

Nope, I'm not sure.  I heard this at a Ducati gathering - I think it was at Stoneliegh P a few weeks back.

If I understood correctly, I'd sure like to get his contact info, for myself and for Motopia.  Thanks.
