Okay Mindy and I are pretty much settled in, I have a walkout basement with sliding doors, so the twins are now in the basement.  I am setting up a work place for them.  Let me know what you think!

Here are a couple of the new monster.

Damn nice mirrors! laughingdp I agree, had to put on my Oakleys there for a minute. I think all that yellow messed up my monitor screen. Grin

All I know is they'd look better in a DFW garage!! applause Enjoy the street/track transformation work. That basement IS heated, right? Document the work with pics. waytogo

1st -  Bryant yes there are 2 strret bikes now!!!  I want to keep the bike easily ready to morph back into a street bike, because you never know when some who rides might come and visit.  This way I have the extra bike for all the twisties up here!!  But yes it will be my track bike.

2nd - Brian yes it would look better in a DFW garage, and in 1 year it WILL be. Yes the basement is heated so no more winterizing, and if I really want to piss the neighbors off I just back the ass end out the door and start it up.  And I will document the work with pics and keep everyone posted.

3rd - Rich, thats the plan, but Mindy has to get a job before I start anything major, plus I am saving for a move next year.

4th - muskrat I think they do but see #3

5th - Thanks!  waytogo

6th - anyone ever heading this way I have a bike for them to ride, especially in the hot july-august heat!

you're 500 miles from Robinsville, NC, where the Dragon and many of the best roads in the US are.  Here's the link http://www.tailofthedragon.com/  If you have any vaca let me know and I'll meet you there.

when I make it your way on work related stuff I'll let you know, BUT if anyone reading this board wants to do the Dragon I'm in.  I've done it on my cruiser and it's best to do it mid-week.

from what i have been told by family that lives in vriginia. forget the dragon- too heavily patrolled and "too many da#! tourists" (me/us). blue ridge parkway is very long and very nice but speed limit is only 45 on that thing. i would just pull out a map and star banging out miles. did you locate burkeville?

On a local related topic, we have the Talimena Scenic Drive (which is our weak ass Dragon's Tail equivalent) in South East Oklahoma and we had problems last spring with overly excited Park Rangers. Yes, we got tickets! It's a 50+mile "park road" with a 55mph speed limit and it's double striped the entire way for no passing. I have ridden up there since 1980 and have passed thousands of cars and have never seen any law enforcement to speak of. Until last spring. Tongue They even set up a road block with orders to arrest me for evading arrest when they caught me! Tongue Well I turned around and headed back up the road when I realized everyone wasn't behind me. I figured that something had gone sour but had no idea that we were targeted and pulled over as a group by the Park Rangers. On a positive note, I was told by a LeFlore County Sheriff Deputy in 2005 that they only patrol that road on weekends and don't waste their time on weekdays due to minimal traffic. He made me promise not to tell!!! Evil So, don't go up there on the weekends and you will be fine!! The Park Rangers told us that they had been given orders by their boss to shut down the motorcycle high jinks on the weekends.waytogo Again, don't go on the weekends!! waytogo [moto] drink

yes the Dragon is HEAVILY patrolled which is why I said weekday.  my last trip there wasn't so good because we landed smack on the weekend.  anyway, that's not the best or the only road.....trust me.  you have the skyway and the devils diamond just down the road which are better and long as hell.  some in this group would run out gas actually.
