Rain here. I was too tired and not feeling well so Lucy and I only walk for 10 minutes this morning.

I got a call for a safety coordinator job at Craft Brewer Alliance. They own Redhook Brewery, Widmer Brothers, and Kona Brewing.
Why did they not call sooner? I applied on 14 May.

I had a major job meltdown last night. I like the company I work for, it a is a not for profit Safety Council. I got in as the receptionist for the first 3 months and then move over to Safety & Health instruction. There is not one thing I like or find enjoyable about being the receptionist. I work for 4 hours, lunch, then work 4 more. Everyone else has time to chat, listen to music, make calls to friends, look at the news on the internet and yell back and forth about it. All the while, I have piles of work backed up waiting for me. I asked if I could come in on Sat to catch up and was told no.

Lame rant I know. After 7 months of unemployment, a paycheck is great. I just have never worked so hard for so little.

imagine when after a year and almost half, I got a job that paid $400/month for 48hrs/week after coming from $2400/month 40hrs/week and lots of overtime . . .

but, hey good luck on the brewery interview... or is it official? didn't understand that well

I'm looking at both Danner and White workboots. I need a good set.

Suggestions? Or are they the boot equivalent of Honda vs. Toyota?

I like Danner or Redwings...

morning folks.

sorry to hear the job isn't quite what you expected LMT. but at least you only have to do that for a little while. after the crucible you can be annoying to the new receptionist.

The job will be OK, just venting. One of the things I like about work in general and look forward too is the social interaction. I have zero of that.  We have assigned lunch times, so no "hey lets go to lunch" moments. The other co-worker that lunches the same time as me reads a book.

I will call the brewery and let them know I have a job now.

I know a lot of folks know you much better LMT but why wouldn't you see what the brewery offers?
