I have some experience...more with repair than fabrication.

Nothing fancy, but stuff didn't break.

Is working with the raw material a problem?  I know once it's cured with resin and you're cutting it that's bad to breathe

It's the c/f, not the resin. If you create airborne pieces, even cutting with scissors, it's very hazardous. Cutting cured pieces with power tools obviously creates more dust.

Just wear a respirator...I recommend this one...

I'm not losing the beard so I'll have to come up with solid fume/particle extraction setup if I move forward at some point.

A sandblast cabinet would not be nearly big enough.

Honestly I would need a paint booth.

Paint booths aren't perfect...just sayin'.
