I blew it. Got on the gas too much in the wet, while still leaned over. High sided my ass down the road.

Now while I wasn't on my monster, I consider this my support group so here I am.
First the good news:
I'm ok, my aerostitch is scuffed up a bit, my Helmet... took it like it's supposed to.

The bad...
The motorcycle is not so good, we'll see what needs to be done, it might be total'd. It slid for a while, then hit a curb, still moving at a decent speed, bent sub frame, and cracked clutch cover plus messed up farings... Ok done for now thanks for listening.

Ow.  Helmet definitely did its job.  And yup, that's one for the ticker.

I know everyone says it again and again, but we mean it.. . . The only thing that matters is that you're ok.  Bikes can be replaced/repaired.  The $ hit from a crash is just temporary.  As long as you made it through relatively intact, that's all you should be--and all that we are--concerned about.

As far as feeling bad about the crash, we all screw up.  Sometimes we get bitten by it and sometimes we don't.  You got bitten.  Drink heavily now, and then dwell on it later.  I'm not saying don't analyze it -- it's better to do that sooner.  But once you've done your crash analysis, don't play it over and over and over again in your head.  That's often not productive.

'stich is good about repairing their stuff.  They had a fairly lengthy backlog last I heard because of the Hi-Viz recall.  Keep that helmet as a reminder.

Yeah been beating myself up over it. Thanks for the advice.  I know exactly what I did wrong... which maybe why I keep kicking myself.

You're part of the group, so despite you're not being on the Duc (whew!  cheeky) it's a ticker #.  We do it not to punish folks--just to make the gang aware of how people in our little family are doing out there on the street.

Glad you are OK.   waytogo

oh that sucks!

Let me see...   Yes, in fact everyone who's posted up here, has been in your shoes. Some a few times more than others  cheeky h a ha ha.
That doesn't entirely make it better I know. But at least you know it's not the most amazing thing anyone's ever heard. It's surprizingly heart breaking to f-up your favorite toys isn't it? Scary to think you could have nixed yourself too. Well you made it through, so just learn and get back on with new attitude, and polish those skills.
Ok next question before you finish your beer tonight at ZG.  drink

1, Are you healthy?
2, Do you have insurance?
3, Do you still have an income?
4, Do you have a roof over your head?

If you've answered yes to most of these questions, take a deep breath because you're doing better than many these days. So don't worry too much.  waytogo

Bummer about the wreck! Glad you're OK. We're supposed to get the AGV helmets at the D Store any day/month now (AGV works on Italian time). Wink The AGV catalog is at the front desk at the D Store, so come check it out if you're interested.

Now that you dusted yourself off. Be sure and get back on right away. You don't want any mental setbacks.  [moto]
