Fly Screen or not

Hi guys..just need some thoughts. I have been contemplating to keep or remove the screen on my S2RK. I personally find the bare look without the screen to be really nice ~ sort of complimenting the naked concept of a Monster. People speak about the wind blast factor which I believe does get reduced with the screen but I'm wondering how significant is the difference having them on or off? Appreciate your opinions or experiences? Thanks.

Nothing on my Dark for the first couple years... and I found highway runs would wear on me. Installed a Dart Flyscreen (I know, not the same as the OEM ones...) and found those same highway miles were easier to deal with. Just enough to take the majority (emphasis on "not all") of the wind force off my torso. Depending on your height, you'll still get some on your helmet. But again, I can tuck pretty well on long runs and miss a lot of the force.

Of course, around town, or in the twisties, I don't think it would be AS noticeable a difference.

For a brief period I was gonna enginner a scissor support so I could change the deflection angle on my flyscreen on the go... but I never got around to it, and I just leave it on all the time.

I've noticed that at higher speeds, if sitting upright, the wind blast hits me in a way that causes my helmet to kind of lift on me.  that's w/o the screen in place. w/the screen, it sits just fine.

my only guess would be that the aerodynamics of the corsair vs air passing around my shoulders/neck is generating a bit of lift

of course, I do like the look of it w/o. so I just tuck a lil'bit if I'm going that fast.

but, height/posture/ergos being what they are, obviously ymmv

think i'm in the minority on this but i hated the windscreen, deflects all the wind onto your helmet.

Being naked is only natural

It's only held on with  a couple bolts...why not take it off and ride around for awhile to see how you like it?

Yes, just two bolts, but to get a wrench on the nut you have to unfasten the instrument cluster and raise it up out of the way (at least on the S2R1K) 

The other consideration besides wind blast, is crap.  Specifically bugs and road crap that will get into every nook and cranny in very hard to clean places without the fly screen.  Might not matter to some, but I am a clean freak.  Not to thread jack, but I have been looking for a carbon fly screen to replace stock and have only found the DP product which is rediculously expensive.  Anybody seen anything decent out there?

Here is what it looks like mounted.  I like it.  I went from the stock fairing with a touring screen to the carbon fairing and did notice the wind at higher speeds, but it only took a couple of days to get used to it.  Now it isn't an issue!
