In a total of 5 years of riding I never had a bike down. Today, I was making a VERY tight (steering lock) U-turn to get into a parking space that was facing the other way. In the space next to my target a woman started backing up her brand new (temp tags) BMW 535 toward me. I...for what ever reason...grab a little front brake STUPID STUPID STUPID. I am going like 3 mph with complete steering lock....and baby goes down.
Learned.... U-turn and brakes = BAD. If I had just kept going and parked as I had planned she would NOT have hit me...so I grabbed some brake for nothing. TAKE THE EASY WAY...I could have parked in an easier to get to spot and avoided such a turn in the first place.
Damage...almost none
a little rash on my new CRG rollaclick brake lever (bad BAD front brake...probably deserves it) which I fixed with a black Sharpy.
Emabarassing but not damaging to me or the bike so still not too bad a day of riding. Better than being in a cage for sure!
