I've been contemplating getting rid of my Ram SRT-10 and getting something newish that can carry 4 adults and be more "practical".  Thinking new was out of the budget, I'd mostly focused on used M5s and so it was for that reason I swung by a local dealers last night to test drive a CPO'd 06 M5.  The drive was ok, but I wasn't ready to buy and I wasn't too sure about the SMG gearbox, so I said my goodbyes and was headed out the door...and opened my big mouth.

"Hey, what kinda deals are you guys doing on M3s?"

A couple hours later, some ridiculous finance deals/negotiating and I walked out with the last 08 M3 Sedan for 4.5k off invoice, a sold truck, and no money exchanging hands.

Whoops.  ;D

I got to test drive and M5 and an M model Z4 on a teat track at the BMW factory in Greenville, SC.  I haven't driven new BMW's since I bought my last new on in 1985.  Wow! 

The M5 just might be the most car you can buy for the money on the planet.

Cool. Honestly I didn't like the V-10 M5 (ESPECIALLY the transmission). Never been in the new M3 but I'm sure it is good. Kudos for getting the four door - now you are unique, because the dealers can't move the damn things around here.

The V10 M5 is awesome (except the autotragic/slushbox transmission).  I love me a traditional manual transmission.

Congrats-those M3's looks sick (and move pretty fast, too).

thanks all.  kinda crazy right time right place deal, but that's how i tend to do them. ;)

bp: i wanna make it up soon, how late do you guys go cause I def can't make it up by 630...

jbubble: we had 2 sporty 2 seaters, so swapping one for a sporty 4 seater is "practical" for us...barely. :P
