Hi all, the Monster Mayhem event is full on happenin this Saturday, I just wanted to make it clear that the NEW date is this coming Saturday, March 28th.  We've also added a ride to the day's activities.  This is mostly geared to the Monster crowd, not the Superbike crowd.  There will be a moderate range of skill and experience levels participating, so our focus is to make it fun, interesting, challenging, but above all safe.  The ride leader Peter Strebbing is an experienced group leader, and we'll have an experienced rider riding sweep.  The roads will be the kind of roads that keep you interested, with lots of good country to look at, but that you don't have to be going a million miles per hour to enjoy. On the little "cow roads" you will have to pay attention, but it will be interesting.  There will be a stretch of surface streets heading out NW, then some nice back country Ranch/Market roads, with a rest stop at appx the 45 mile mark in Bertram.  From there it will be some county highway back to 1431 and returning to the shop.  Any time there's a major turning or decision point, the leader will stop and make a head count.  Ride your own speed, filter to the front or stay at the rear, no worries, don't worry about getting left behind.  Total mileage will be appx 110 miles, so show up at the shop with the tank full, and if you feel the need, top up in Bertram and get some jerky and a red bull :-).  We'll have snacks and stuff back at the store for the Monster Mayhem event.  Meet at the shop by 10:00 and kickstands up at 10:30am.

Cheers all,
Warren

All Ducati aficionados are welcome to come to our first annual Ducati Austin Monster Mayhem event on March 14 from 3:00 until 6:00. Food, drinks, and giveaways! Help us celebrate the most influential Ducati ever made. We will have Monster parts and accessories on sale to customize your bike. Come show your bike off, talk with other Monster owners about customizing and accessorizing your bike. Bring your Ducati, Aprilia, or MotoGuzzi and get a free safety inspection from our certified techs.  Even if you do not own a Monster, come down and be a part of the festivities.  Fun for the whole family.

In addition, you'll be able to see the limited edition Troy Bayliss replica 1098R, and swing a leg over the new 1198S and 1198.

Sincerely,
The Ducati Austin Team

Nicer weather is a matter of perspective.  Yea, wet ain't gonna happen for all
but it's supposed to be cold (max-50ish) about 10A and windy to boot.  I did
wax-on,wax-off this afternoon but my resolve is waning.

Hope it works out for us..... Huh?.....Micky

Good to see several of you there. I hadn't realized that the group ride was with the large sportbike group. It was really crazy pulling up around 2:00 to see so many people in the DA parking lot. What a great turnout.

Good to see some of you and to meet other (IZ).

Good to meet you too Yo, Ghostie, etc.  We have to get out for a ride!  I'll be at Mings too more often since the bike looks like it may be fixed now?  I'm going to check it now.

BTW..I was telling you I went to the factory. Here's a link to the first trip back in '04 when we met up with our Italian friends.   waytogo

ya it was nice seeing everyone and nice meeting you IZ......I did the group ride in the morning and it was WINDY!!!

probably one of the more painful rides I've done...........(note to self: if the forecast calls for 40mph gusts, be sure to skip the ride)

I did get a chance to play around on a shiny new 696 AND an even shinier 848 which totally made it worth it though!

man, I want a new bike!

though surprisingly enough, I enjoyed the Monster more than I did the 848 (which is an awesome bike!), I guess I'm just better suited to that style of riding
