Neighbour - pointing at anything below the tank - when will you finish it?

Workmate - oh, so it's name actually IS Monster, just thought you described it as one.

Unattractive girl - can I go for a ride?  Me pointing at the cowl: No, sorry

But, then again some will surprise me in a good way: My mother, age 77 - I can see that the visual lines in the front are better now, with the new mirrors. (Rizoma Impulsive)  Non-biker girl passing by - that thing has got to be Italian, mmmm those Italians mmm (not asking, she just KNEW right away)

I once had a dude ask me if my bike was the new 999.  I was riding my ST2 that day...with the saddlebags on.

I always love the obligatory "Dude, your engine is f**cked....You don't hear that?!?!?!"

-in response to the open dry clutch..... Grin   I usually reply "Not too familiar w/Ducatis, huh??"

-which usually gets the reply, "Ducati or not, that's gonna be an expensive fix!!! "

When I went to get my old 900 inspected right after I got it.

Mech- Is that one of them bikes that doesn't have valves?

Me- What?

Mech- I heard those bikes don't have valves.

Me- You must be thinking of a Rotary engine.

Mech- No I am pretty sure it's Ducati.

Me- (thinking to myself)  Roll Eyes Whatever just inspect the freakin thing.

At the time I didn't even know about the Desmodromic valves so when I found out later I realized what he was talking about.

No valve springs  Tongue

You should have replied; "No, I put the AutoPilot function on and it drives itself..."   Roll Eyes

"Why would you subject your bike to dyno testing and have it used to prototype an (established manufacturer for other models) exhaust?"

I can't tell you often I get "Ducati eh? I bet that things fast"

At first I was I tried to explain that a 2-valve, air-cooled 750 really didn't produce that much horsepower, but it was always useless. Now I just laugh.

California does no such thing.

New York and several other states do require motorcycle inspections.

Motorcycles are the one thing in California that is less regulated than other states.

I get that stupid question all the time.  I find that if you can actually cite the sections of the vehicle and traffic code that you violated they give you a weird look and back away slowly.
