I couldn't resist that opportunity. Grin popcorn If they know so little about bikes/Guzzis (no harm in that) I would for sure shine them on with a great tale of machining the whole bike out of solid billet on a lathe powered by my wife on a bicycle/pedal powered generator, in a cave. And I distilled all the fuel and oil from our household composte heep and cut down rubber trees to make the tires... all with a straight face. The mass populace is our play ground. laughingdp popcorn bacon Does that make me bad?

Grin Tee Hee!!! I wish I could be so brazen! The Falcone has been replaced with a 1972 Suzuki Hustler. There is a good chance that the same bozo's have never seen one of these, so maybe I could make up a silly, but believable story, whilst maintaining a straight face!

This makes me think about the Kawasaki H2 Mach IV "Widowmaker" (2 stroke 750 triple) that made an appearance at the Mods vs. Rockers event here in San Diego a few weeks back.  If I was that guy I would have told everyone that didnt know better that I cobbed the motor together myself from 3 250cc 2 stroke 4 wheeler motors!

Man, back in 1966 I was jonesin' for an X6 Hustler. That bike and the Bonneville were the two coolest bikes on the road at that time and I wanted both of them! waytogo Dolph Yeah, I was a little young in '66 but I had damn good taste! Grin

waytogo Yeah, back in '72 I would have given anything for a Hustler. It's taken me 40 years, but, boy was it worthwhile! Stiil fast, even now!

Latest case: Lined up at tech inspection at the local "run what you brung" drags, the inspector first asked "What is that?" (to be fair, I had the fairings off the ST2, so no obvious Duc logos) followed by "What's that god-awful noise?"

So I get on the elevator, helmet in hand, and my cute neighbor asks me: "so you have a motorcycle?"

I hesitated for one second, but I just couldn't resist, so I told her: "no, I just don't feel safe in my SUV"

She looked kind of baffled (god bless her), so I immediately said: "yes, I have a motorcycle"

No, you shouldn't judge a bike by its owner.
