From Trackdaz? Nope.  I know Andy and occasionally post on socalsportbikes but don't really know those guys there.

yes it's their first run at a school so no idea
but as a track day org they have a good reputation and a lot of good guys.  if you were going to trust one to do a decent job wth a school, it's probably them

in the past, trackdaz would let their racer friends ride for free and would give free (simple) instruction if you were interested (think: pointers). Definitely not structured like Code nor did you have to listen to hours of terrible borring self-consumed lecture like Pridmore/CLASS.

The trackdaz dudes are all very fast (and more race oriented) than Code/Pridmore. My guess is that it'll be something closer to STAR school. I wonder how organized the material will be as it seems as thought it takes some thought to craft a thoughtful lecture/practice format.

I'm curious to hear what it's like.

What is the price offering if you take the trackdaz school?

275 for the school, and I think Dustin said something like 50 off your next trackday with them.

there isn't a clear cut level or curriculum, they are planning to sort of play it by ear and tailor it based on the levels of the students.  They've apparantly already run the school at least once, using trackdaz staff as students.

There are only 40 students, and I think they're running 2 groups.

Here's some blurbs from dustin about it:

Quote
Never been to the track before, or have been and looking for instruction??? We've got you covered at the Academy. For $275 per person (only 40 students), we're going to give you lessons that will help you become a safe, confident, and predictable track rider. You'll be placed into small groups of 10 for class room instruction, and will only be on the track with 20 people at a time. We're going to give you the instruction in the classroom, and have drills on track for you to practice. The best part about our school is all the personalized instruction, and individual feedback.

Who are the instructors?
Myself, Andy, Sal, and Chris are the core instructors.. We'll have guest instructors of Jacob West, Kenny Kopecky, Kenny Kramer, etc.. Plus regular assistant instructors..

And is there different class levels?
Nope.. We start the curriculum, and essentially gear it towards the students. Depending on who the students are, the instruction may change a bit from class to class.

Steve- If joe or derb can't take you, I might be able to...

Squeak, last time I talked to Derby about getting a ride he was pretty sure there was no way to fit two bikes in his truck, and it sounds like Joe's busy for Loadup Night. I'm still not 100% that I can go, but it's looking good; it was light enough at work today that I could start drinking at lunch; i.e. didn't really need to be there. I'm not thinking it'll be a problem to be gone next Friday. It would probably be good if we could check things out to know for sure whether two bikes will go in your truck or not a little ahead of time; worst case scenario I can rent a uhaul and drive that out there. It'd probably still be cheaper than splitting gas in your truck :P

K.  I'll call you this w/e.  Don't sweat the gas, I get better mileage than most these guys on the freeway ;D

alrighty... finally got a hold of ti2tt, i'm confirmed on 7/4.

and scared of the weather.
Like this is the racing, no?

Ciao Fun

It was 96-ish this weekend.  My tires held up pretty well, but I'm not that fast.

The heat was uncomfortable, but it was even worse when the winds kicked up.  Make sure you bring something really sturdy to tie down your canopy.

I'm be at Buttonwillow on the 6th, so I'm not looking forward to heat either...

yeah... i was out there on the 7th of this month.  i have a pretty good secure-the-canopy-to-the-truck thing going on, but even still it did try to go wandering off a couple times.

new tires next weekend.. wonder if 7/4 will be the end of em.  :(

love to make the 6th but with 4th track day then 5th bbq, and family in town, no way is that gonna happen.  have fun, ride safe.  :)

Got some new skins today from Speed out at Flight Cycles... [thumbsup]

Thanks for pulling it together in short time Nick!!!

I'm going to try and match the Garrett routine and have my shits last more than 2 track days and some street ridin',  the winner, Dunlop Quali's.

Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

SteveG

Well... I'm officially out. Fincher was going to be here on saturday, but he moved the visit up to friday. If you or anyone you know wants a spot let me know; it's sold out otherwise.

The trailer for CCBB came out, if you want to check out the reason I can't be around...

Have a blast guys, I wish I could make it. It would be seriously bad form to miss the review though.
