So i just got home to see my new seat waiting for me on my front steps.  I open it up to see how much my backside will thank me on those long rides and........there is a 1/2 inch tear on the rear edge bang head.  Looks like it was that way from the factory.  I looked at the box and it was not damaged.

Anyone else have this happen?

I have to contact the vendor tomorrow and see how long until they can get me another.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic

Document everything, including pictures of the box and any undamaged bag.
If your vendor is OK it will work out, hopefully waytogo

i would suggest killing this thread until you speak with the vendor.
nothing worse than bashing a vendor (whether you do it or someone else) before they have a chance to make it.

I don't think anyone will assume it's the vendor's fault when he mentions the undamaged box...

Who bashed the vendor?

no one......but it would have started sooner than later.
it always does.

luckily, the OP contacted them in a timely fashion, and they stood behind the product. waytogo

Thanks everyone, and i left the vindor's name out of the post just for the bashing reason.  I just wanted feedback it this happened to anyone else.
So far the vendor has been very cooperative.

thanks for all your support.

These are packaged loose in the box coming from ducati, italy.
the seat bounces back and forth in the box and about 25% of them get a hole worn in the lower front corner.

the simple fix for this is to open the box and check the seat is ok, and then stuff a piece of bubblewrap at the front.
(dunno why ducati hasnt started doing this at the factory after how many seats they must have gotten returned!)
