Just kidding. I actually think it looks pretty good. Now that I see that headlight on an old monster I can't understand why it looks so bad on the new monster.

Wow, that looks really good!  I never would have guessed it though, had I not seen it!

i think the difference of the new light design on the new monster vs the old monster is the mounting. the new bike has it flush against the forks making it seem flat and it also disappears when you are riding the bike. the old monster is sticks out more and doesn't seem crushed against the forks. but at the same time takes away the compact feel of the light. which is probably one of the design goals.

I agree, it was designed to be flatter against the forks. I just think it went to far in. I am looking to lower mine about 1 1/2" and will try to set it back about 1". Nothing like the 696 or 1100 though.

I like it! I think it looks even better on your bike than it does on a 696. And I own a 696!  waytogo

The thing is, it sits much tighter to the forks on the 696, which is a good thing in my opinion.

I got mine used from a fellow board member who decided to install a round one in his 696. I am sure you can inquire from your dealer about the price. Post the price if you get it.
