My homemade S2r1K tail chop.

Here's some shots of my tail chop on duxoop (duck soup). I made the bracket from parts I had laying around. Then I primed it and painted it with Krylon gloss in 'Banner Red'. It's a pretty good match for the color, even up close, in person. I wish I had drilled the holes for the signals a bit lower though. I may have to make another one. Let me know what you think.

Very nice. I still have not chopped mine yet. this may convince me. I guess that I would like to keep some sort of tail just not as big as the stock one. Those Rizoma turn signals look great. how visible are they?

They are super bright, and very visible.

Your taillight is too close to the seat. From FHE the taillight bolts are secured to the taillight in a very cheap manner. Where the light is currently located the seat makes contact with it and when weight is added it will apply pressure and will break the studs out of the back of the taillight assembly. You need to lower the light about a 1/4"

Thanks for the input about the tail light being too high. When I sit on the seat, it does contact the tail light and the signals. I'm replacing the tail light soon (fingers crossed for Vizitech) and may redo the light bracket at that time.

Just a warning but I would do it sooner rather than later. I made the same mistake on my first tailchop and found out when I got about 10 miles up the street and the taillight was hanging down banging on the rear tire.

I have about 1500 miles on the bike with it the way it is. Maybe it appears a little closer than it really is. Also, the rubber bushings are not completely compressed, and they allow a little movement. (LocTite and lock washers keep the nuts from backing off.)
