Road Trip 101

It is a long damn way from Portland to John Day (especially on a monster).

250 miles yesterday.

280 miles today.

Some lessons learned:

1.  Cow poop is slippery.
2.  Gravel is slippery.
3.  At a certain velocity, aerodynamic pressure will overwhelm the spring-loaded detents on the CRG Lane Splitter mirrors and cause them to fold back.  (ahem - no actual numbers will be posted here on the Interwebz).  Grin
4.  At or very near the same velocity mentioned above, the rain-shield cover of a Coretech tail bag will also detach and blow away, but may retrieved by your buddy riding behind you in the slower non-Ducati bike and returned at the next stop, for which one is ever grateful.

That is all.

JohnnyD

I experienced number 3 today.  Aerodynamic pressures are getting stronger this year.   Evil

After mapping this out . . . no offense G and M . . . that's 6 hours to Bend!

So:

Meet at Starbucks on the corner of Durham and 99W 8AM - Departure time 9AM.

99W
18
22
Bend - Lunch/M&G&Z etc.
97
26
PDX - 6ish.

Anyone, anyone?

Marv said he's gonna be free ~11:30.  So if we leave early or take a quicker route to 22 we could hit some local roads with him.

Fun ride... great scenery... great company... Santiam to Bend and back via Gov'y Camp.  Not a lot of twisties... but we did get uber lucky with the po'pos like 8 times. Not a lot of great twisties... but still a great day to ride. Leave at 8:30... get home at 8:30.... what a day.  waytogo

Dude, the seat on the 848 is like 1/2 inch thick. The Monster seat is plush in comparison. Plus we have a lot more weight on our wrists from the seating angle... oye... quit yer beachin.   Grin

360 miles is a lot.     [moto]

I forgot that I reset in Newberg by mistake... i missed the mileage from my house to there. So 375 is good.

Monday is my first day at my new job.

Not sure if that's a fortunate or unfortunate thing.  cheeky  Gettin' paid: good.  Not being free to go on a ride: bad.  <*shrug*>

Hey Ryan! Yeah, been super busy with work and music lately. Sadly, i haven't had many days on the bike lately. I'll save myself the embarrassment for now, but def want to hit up a track day soon.

The sewers of hell are breaking.  FEMA no where to be found.

That leaves me as the general contractor plumber on call.

AKA - I'm stuck at work and can't make it.  Grin
