Have posted elsewhere that Ohlins is doing work on monster forks for DNA and hopefully will do the mod for others. Don

Hi All
I don´t know if this the right thread to post this issue
I´m looking for info about the M696 fork and for some alternatives:
- complet new fork
- cartridge kit (maybe the best option)
I want to keep the OEM calipers.
I found some info about cartridge kits:
- Race Tech [G2-R]
http://www.racetech.com/page.aspx?id=53&menuid=61
- Traxxion [AK-20]
http://www.traxxion.com/cruisers/cruiser_package2.shtml
- ExtremTech
http://www.extremetech.it/
Anyone have some experience with this? Feedback?
Thank´s
I will try to get more info about it

hey guys, ive only recently found this forum
but its great to see and read about all the 696 mods
its been a lot of help and given me a lot of ideas, but
i have a question, with the termi dp kit, should the dp air filter be oiled or installed dry?
my ducati dealer said install dry?
i initially oiled the filter with k&n spray oil, but then took it back out and cleaned it, and put it back in dry, just wondering how others had installed it?

So on the subjhect of 696s..... I bought mine because I thought ending with 13 ducatis was unlucky and having sworn off 1000cc roadburners as anachronistic- I mean come on, you cant get it done with out a motor the size of a cars? Being an old guy an 750 is a big bike and the 696 size is more fun to use on the street. I also knew that a stock bike is only stock for a very short time in my hands-the fun is in making it fit....so Things to do. Dump the stock shock. it keeps the ass end of the bike off the tyre, little else. Solution...Ohlins and since some knome in sweden did not make it just for me am on the 2nd spring- 105 instead of 115. Ohlins usa is very helpful. Lower seat looks way better and keeps me tackle off the tank. A new pair of Vanson Tech sport rider leather pants sure helps there too. Of course had to make a custom liner from a pair of windproof fleece lined bicycle pants to keep the cold air out of the inner thighs. works great! used the leftover fabric to Back the perforated front of the Vanson Jacket. These let the new Gerbing jacket and gloves pump heat in and keep it there. Wired it in so that I can disconnect the harness from the control box and plug in the battery charger. The on-off reostat I mounted on the recessed flat between the key and the gas cap. easy to reach while riding and all wiring is invisible. The handlebars were very close but the angle was too flat for my old wrists....Rizoma 42mm risers less the silver washer and a black conical bar work better, helps me remember to relax my arms when cornering. The passenger pegs were going to never be used so out with the hacksaw and files- some carbon sheet from Dragonplate and the black spray paint and eventually some rearsets but for now saved some weight. Pazzo shorty levers are a big improvement and way more comfortable to cover the brake with 1 finger all the time and bring the clutch into a less akward release point by a bit. I bought the bike used and the previous owner put the termis on, frame and axel sliders and the tail chop. The termis are ,well, loud and with the trailing throttle poping and banging-always when I chopped the throttle being surprised by a lurking cop-led me to the db killers-stock too quiet so gradually started cutting down the tube- finally ground off the weld and have just the flat plate with a hole= perfect.WOT barks nicely and at small throttle openings is no making me deaf. I also shortened the front blinkers and painted a bunch of brackets black Hav I mentioned that the bike is an absolute hoot to ride? Most all of the changes have resulted in functional improvements to the way I like the bike to be and I will muck with the suspension and eventually get it where I want it. All good fun.I have had the bike now for about 2 months and 2k miles of fun. Great gas mileage and reasonable comfort. Things to do? the forks are next on the list upgrading or replacing, the shock needs more work and the mastercylinders are crying out for radial replacements. Maybe BST wheels. My dream bike? A 250 desmo single cafe ride- a modern version of one of the many Ducatis I have had and sold over the decades. lets see if I can figure out how to add some pictures of suzy.{all my ducs have been named suzy after some sweet young thing of my past...har har har}Don

Just came back from shop
I feel the rear is not so "rude" anymore after the bumps and I´ve got the feeling that the rear stay glued to the ground.
Also, in acceleration I don´t feel the rear compressing, seems now it´s more direct forward. I hope you can understand me
This analisys was made after 6kms ride
