In texas we have inspections like alot of other states, WV also.  When I was at DucPond dc asked if I could get the plate that holds the sticker.  they mount to your license plate. If anyone else is interested in getting a plate or 2 let me know.  I will find out exactly how much they are, but from memory they are under 5 bucks.  Here is a pic of it on my bike, plus no more stickers on the forks!  [thumbsup]

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I used to have mine on a plate on the left side of the frame just down from the tank.  A state  [leo] gave me a stern verbal warning that it is "required to be on the front left fork."  He was not amused when I asked if it could be on the rear left fork.  I have not heard of anyone else having issues as long as it was on the left side.

not what the statute says:

http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+46.2-1163

QuoteIf the vehicle is a motorcycle, the approval sticker may be placed on a plate securely fastened to the motorcycle for the purpose of displaying the sticker or in any other location designated by the Superintendent.

Doesn't require a specific location as long as its visible -- do you have a reference?

he'll post dimensions soon enough..

don't assume every state license plate is the same size, they vary somewhat.
