Well to try and get back on topic, I always understood it as an acronym.
Stupid, Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead.

Well I can see that chaos hasn't changed, he went off on a couple of my posts in TOB for no reason too.
Sorry for all the BS. in this thread.

Sorry this thread turned into such a mess. That kid was a total troll. Curiosity had me check the other board and sure enough there he was touting his accomplishment.

You have to wonder about the personality and mentality of a person like that.
Do they act like that in everyday life, or just anonomously on the interweb?
What makes a person act out like that?, sorry my psych classes intrigued me in college.  :)

There's this guy on the east coast that was video taped from a chopper doing 130 plus on a freeway... weaving in and out of traffic... ends up getting cut off by a chick... she notices him at the last minute and jerks back... flipping her SUV. Nobody was expecting him to close in that quickly. The news... and the DA... start talking about banning high displacement bikes from public roads. (Never gonna happen)

My point... a squid (IMO) is somebody who rides aggressively where it is not safe to do so. Hell, I take them back roads faster than I should... but there... it is my ass sliding off the road and into the tree....  when the number of variables go up.. other cars... oncoming traffic... driveways... all that other crap... I do tend to slow down a bit.

Monsters are meant to be enjoyed... they are meant to be ridden. Anybody can go over 100 down the freeway. To me... that isn't even fun... corners are where it is at.

If you make motorcycling look bad to others motorcyclists... well... there is a word for that somewhere.  [thumbsup]

I ALWAYS wear a jacket, leather GP Tech with a stripper on the back

I didn't know jackets came with a stripper on the back!!! Need to get one.  Seems like at least as much protection as a G2 plus the silicon should make for a softer landing.  :D
Kudos to you, sir, inventor of the stripper jacket.

The more I read this thread the more I feel like a squid  :'( Anyone with an S4RS that can honestly say they don't enjoy the occasional power wheely is lying to themselves (I don't mean 110 mph stand up wheelies on a crowded highway with no gear).

There should be a Squid-Scale from 1-10 with 10 being the squidiest.

I would be like a 2 or 3  :-[

I don't think any of us are completely unguilty of some degree of squidlyness. I think it's more a matter weighting the consequences. Knowing when it is relatively safe and when it's inappropriate. We all enjoy a certain level of performance in our bikes or we'd have all bought a Hyosung 250. Stand up wheelies  and doing 120 in tragffic is dumb and potential deadly.

I don't know anyone personally who rides a Ducati that I would even consider a "Squid" I am sure there are plenty of them out there but I don't know any. Which is one of the big reasons I got hooked on Duc's.

Ya'll are more dedicated than me. I got through about 40 questions, realized how many were left, screamed like a little girl and quit.
All my best ideas get me into trouble.

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates when he said, 'I drank what?!'

Some people are like Slinkies ... Not really good for anything..... But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

AFAIK, squid started out as a Navy term for a "squirrely young kid", who would spend his money on a motorcycle, ride foolishly, and eventually hurt or kill himself and morphed over time into "Stupid, Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead".

To me, squid is a very grey area and probably has more to do with attitude than actions.
