Hi all,

I think this Ride for the Hills thing is a great idea.  waytogo The website is http://www.rideforthehills.org.au/ if you want to check it out.

The places that have been devastated by the recent fires have been part of the motorcycle scene in Victoria for so long now.  They have been places that have welcomed us, Smiley fed us, popcorn entertained us, chug and for whatever reason have been great places to visit.  [moto] I think it's a great idea that the motorcycling community wants to give something back.  applause

Heatherp, I know that Whittlesea is not really west but it's only a little bit north and imagine the fun we could have as the Oz Monsters representatives in such a fantastic event.  Think of the carding potential too!  Grin

So my suggestion is brekky  coffee bacon in St Kilda somewhere and then join the throng for a cruise  [moto] up to Whittlesea.

Cheers.

Hi Rob

I agree totally with the sentiments behind this ride.

The thought of attending did cross my mind.  The logiistics are a little difficult.  ie 4 hour ride home and work the following day (I'm not a wuss - I do extremely full on 12 hour shifts!!!).

I also find the thought of riding with that many other bikes just a little (read hugely) daunting.  Would find it easier if I had some friendly faces to ride with.   Roll Eyes

Did you notice they are advising people to rock up at 8.30am.  Sort of rules out a lesiurely sunday morning brekky.

Howdy All.

Been there don't that for bushfire appeal, cash and material items.
If we really want to help those effected then we should frequent their new business's once back up and running.

+1 for Flemington, leisurely breaky and ride.

Madalf.

Dos and I did our bit for the 'get the regions business back on track' last weekend....we took our girls up to coldstream for dinner. Dos tried to drink as much local wine as he could, what a giver...his generosity knows no bounds!

Nope, didn't notice that one.  Too early for me.  God knows I've more than done my bit for the cause too.

So, Verb it is then?  What time?

The Scoresby Motorcycle Swap Meet is on that day too so I might go for a cruise over there afterwards.  Looking for a project.

Depends on how big my Saturday night is. I'm not bouncing backup in the mornings like I used too.
