Didn't say it couldn't be done, just that you would need to make changes to a typical gas setup.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_motorcycle

Tons of examples out there. Would be kinda cool to pick one up if nothing more than to say I have a Diesel bike...

I would look pretty closely at a TDI moto. OR even a hybrid bike. could you imagine the torque of a hybrid bike off the line when it's running off the electric engine?  Shocked

I've read of some Duc owners answering the question "What the hell is that [dry clutch] noise?" with the reply "it's a Diesel". [moto]

A diesel engine's compression ration is ~20 to 1 versus ~10 to 1 for gas. Engine braking would be huge. A slipper clutch would be required.

Nope, engine braking isn't a result of compression, it's caused by the vacuum that's pulled when the throttle is closed. A diesel would have LESS engine braking since it wouldn't have a throttle plate. (Hence Jake Brakes and vacuum pumps on diesels...)

Is there a reason that so few companies can make a naked bike without being nearly a perfect copy of the Monster?  Huh?

Well, I'd hardly say "perfect"...
