I figured it would come to that.. Looks like the triple clamp and riser assembly is going up for sale. I'll post up there later.
Since I figured it would come down to that, here's the next question. Can the stock triple be polished easily? I want to polish and then brite dip the upper and lower clamps to match my cyclecat clipons.
Any special tools needed for polishing aluminum?
To start, file off any cast lines, then sand everything down starting with say 100 grit sandpaper working up to 400- or 600-wet/dry sandpaper.
Then off to the wheel...I use a bench grinder and a polishing wheel. You can get polishing compound the same place you get the wheel.
I polished my lower triple this way.
IMO both upper and lower should look the same.
