wow, sorry to hear about that. Is there a reason for the grand exodus, or is that something not suited for online forums?

Truth is, Alex's Visa is set to expire in April and his family is back in Italy with matters to attend to. Alex is a good long time friend and we will welcome him back when the stars align.

Service at Ducati Austin

POST SCRIPT: Just to clarify, Ducati Austin is in great shape for the 'busy season' in our Service Department. Our Sr. Tech Randy is alive and well and we have a new tech starting this week that some of you from San Antonio or Houston my recognize. He worked with our Parts Manager David at Ex-imports a couple of years ago, so they already have a good working mojo. We have five lifts and can do anything from a tire-change to major overhauls or mods.
"Life is change" as they say and with each change at DA we strive to give our community an ever improving shop to call home. Thanks to those who came out for for our ride and BBQ on Saturday and stay tuned for info about the upcoming Streetfighter intro.
thanks all,

still trying to figure out the purpose of starting this thread..................
and more importantly, why something as confidential as someones Visa status is being aired publicly on a forum
I appreciate the "plug" for a new shop and people moving on in life, but why can't it just be left at that?

uhhhh.... Ducati Austin has been an on-going soap opera as long as I can remember - tho to be fair, I've long since given up on them, and have never been to the current iteration.

All,
Sadly, the reason this thread appears to have been started was self promotion and an attempt at passive aggressive mud slinging at Ducati Austin by the first poster (an ex-employee).
I hate these kind of threads as they are gossipy and add no real value to the riding community.
As to Alex's visa, it was no secret that he was here for a limited time on this round and anyone who knows him is aware of that. It's not private or secret or confidential information. He was a highly visible member of our team and i only mentioned his Visa to set the record straight as the reason for his anticipated departure from DA.
It's truly unfortunate that in retail over time, a few people will develop some axe to grind. It sucks for all parties. Sometimes the root issue can be legitimate---I'll acknowledge that we aren't perfect and sometimes we make mistakes. When we do, we try to fix them and make them right. I can't begin to tell y'all all the over-and-above good-will we've put out when problems have arisen (be they our fault or not). Sometimes people just can't move on from an event or have an alternate agenda that they want to play out on line or thru rumors, gossip and bad mouthing. I know anyone who reads forums enough can usually sniff these out pretty quickly.
God knows, I/we try to take the high road (and i am breaking my own rule by responding again to this thread). The good news is that for every mud slinger we are fortunate to have
many
dozens of supportive friends and customers. These are folks who value a local shop, owned and staffed by local people who care, who are riders and are gear-heads. It's not easy being in retail and it certainly isn't a path to riches. We do it because we love Austin, we love the bikes and we love our friends who ride and have a passion for riding. Why else would we put up with all the other crap?!
Anyway, sorry for the rant.
The team at DA and I are always available to legitimate people who have questions or concerns.
It's Spring...let's go riding (and then have Chinese food at Mings!)
