That's great. Those tanks are scary when they crack open and leak gas. Nothing like the fear of a flaming/exploding bike to keep you from getting aggressive in the turns.

They re-did the bike for 08/09 & didn't fix the tank thing though. They claimed it was all new even though it looked the same... wait...
Does big bang make sense for a 600 though?

I thought their marketing copy said it was a totally new bike but just kind of looked the same.
I thought (perhaps wrongly) that the point of big bang over screamer was traction. Traction on liter bikes due to power is much more of a problem and therefore the trade offs worth it, not sure if that's the case with 600s. They're using traction control in WSS now though apparently.

traction, yes, but also as-or-more importantly, mid-range. it theoretically gives the I4 workable grunt and mid-range without sacrificing the top end power. i can tell you first hand the R6 has no mid-range...
